Trailblazing is about the ultimate (and unlikely) transformation of ‘The Fat Doc’ (overweight, chocoholic, middle-aged man who couldn’t even outrace his 8-year-old daughter), who upon discovering an epiphany that he DID wish to live longer to see his then “newborn” third child grow up, and not succumb to a family history of premature heart attacks, embarked on a journey of healthy discovery. This journey has led to a radical transformation to become the Run Doc through a newfound passion for running.

Jenson ‘The Run Doc’ Mak is a healthy ageing and longevity specialist who discovered the elixir of youth through running, transforming himself from the Fat Doc to the Run Doc.
On the precipice of ‘subhealth’, with high blood pressure, insomnia, work stress and mental health disorders, he developed a strong desire to better experience the life events of his three children, which drove him to improve his physical and mental health.
As well as being an accomplished runner, Jenson is a clinical researcher, senior lecturer in clinical medicine and justice of the peace. He’s also a certified primal health coach and one of the first to become level three performance development coach in road, trail and ultra running with Athletics Australia. For leisure he enjoys singing and reading about psychology.
